Yesterday, All Our Troubles Seemed So Far Away

Yesterday was a laid back day for us. I spent at least 5 hours on the Internet looking for FREE eBook download sites for Carol to explore possible downloads for her new Sony Reader Touch Edition.
I found enough sites to keep her busy most of the day today.

That is, after she defrosts our RV refrig. Yes, I'm going to help!!! That's always a job, putting everything in ice chests, then the defrost process of melting the ice and dipping out the water, then putting everything back. We've just recently learned if you take those "thin" 12" x 15" silicone flexible cutting board sheets
that you can get in the housewares section of Wal-Mart and cut them to fit the rear wall of the refrig, then slide the wire shelves back in against them to hold them in place and put freezer contents back in to hold them tight against the wall, the next time you defrost, all the ice & frost will be attached to the thin sheet and you just have to remove it and dump it in the sink, and you're done in a fraction of the time and effort. Pretty good, huh?

I also scoured the Internet for interesting blogs to "Follow". I found a few and will look for more today. It's really neat finding others with like interests and similar life-style. Carol and I managed to squeeze in a couple of games of "Geezer Golf" after dinner and before settling down to watch the Texas Rangers game. Guess what? Carol read her eBook. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.

  1. Defrosting sounds like a great idea on a hot day! Curious about the E-Book and how she likes it. I have thought about getting one too.

    Stay Safe

  2. We've finished the defrost job and now I can't get her to put her eBook down (she loves it). Especially the dictionary feature. You just highlight any word and the definition pops up. There are several brands with several options. You just have to research and pick the one that suits your needs. Do recommend non-glare screen.

  3. The Sony Reader Touch Edition is awesome. The dictionary is great, you can also highlight and write notes into the book.

Another great feature is when shutting off the book and when you return it takes you straight to where you left off, not a great thing if two of you are reading the same book.

It has so many other great features too, well worth it and we just wonder why it took us so long to get it.

  4. We are going to try out your trick for saving time on defrosting!! Sounds like a neat idea. Charley and I have a Kindle and we love it. And we agree that a non-glare screen is a must.

  5. Hi, thanks for joining the followers on my blog. I'm glad to find your blog and will follow your adventures now, too! I like your defrost idea. I'm trying that one for sure!

  6. Hello Carol and BW,
Thank you for becoming a follower on my blog, too.
I will pass on your tip about the defrosting, if that is OK with you?
    Happy Trails, Penny, TX
